Invocation to be recited while standing at Safa and Marwah

Hisn al-Muslim 236

Translation

Indeed, Ṣafā and Marwah are among the symbols of Allah. I begin with what Allah began with. There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah. Allah is the Greatest.

Reflection

When the Prophet approached Ṣafā, he recited: He climbed Ṣafā until he could see the Kaʿbah, faced the qiblah, and proclaimed Allah’s oneness and greatness: He made a personal supplication between repetitions and repeated the remembrance three times. At Marwah, he repeated the same sequence of remembrance and personal supplication.
