أَحْسِبُ فُلاَناً وَاللَّهُ حَسِيبُهُ، وَلاَ أُزَكِّي عَلَى اللَّهِ أَحَداً
Hisn al-Muslim 231
Translation
I consider so-and-so [to be…], and Allah is his Reckoner. I do not declare anyone pure before Allah.
Reflection
He said: If anyone of you is compelled to praise his companion, then he should say: If he knows those qualities of him, he may add: I consider him to be such-and-such.
